This role is a key growth position focused on expanding the company’s metal building sales and services. The Business Development Manager will generate new opportunities, qualify clients, and guide projects from initial
contact through signed contract.
Role Purpose
Grow the metal building division by developing new client relationships, educating customers, and positioning the company as a trusted General Contractor and experienced metal building erector.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new metal building opportunities
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads
- Educate clients on metal building options, costs, and timelines
- Qualify opportunities by confirming budget, schedule, and decision-makers
- Coordinate with estimating and operations for pricing and proposals
- Support negotiations through to contract execution
- Build long-term relationships for repeat and referral business
- Provide market feedback to leadership and marketing
What This Role Is Not
- Not a cold-calling-only sales role
- Not focused on low-price or unqualified bids
- Not primarily estimating or administrative
Skills & Experience
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Construction knowledge (metal buildings or steel preferred)
- Ability to discuss budgets and timelines confidently
- Self-motivated and organized
- Comfortable working independently and with cross-functional team
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation of group presentations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Work, Excell, Powerpoint and willing to
learn industry-specific software.
- Innovation and problem-solving skills that include the ability to develop and propose equipment-based
solutions for clients.
